What is Family Sounds?

• Family Sounds is an hour-long podcast that tells the story of your personal heroes and loved ones.  We provide  moving and vivid narratives that will bring to life your family's stories and memories.

• What we offer is a podcast - an audible family story. The future of memoirs if you will, for the benefit of either an individual or an entire family to have a keepsake in honor of their loved one for generations to come.

Family Sounds podcast that is deeply researched and highly produced, that you can share with your family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones. It is so highly produced that you can share it with the world if you’d like and can even air on your local radio station (which we can help you with!)

Micro-Site with transcriptions of the text, additional stories and anecdotes, and your family photos.

How does work?

​

• We use your family’s voices, as well as a professional narrator to tie the story together. 

​

• We will pair you with the right producer, who will conduct an interview with your family and you or whoever will be designated by you or your family to tell the story. 

​

What is the Process?

​

• The family representative will lay out the basic outline of the story you’d like to publish such as names, dates, locations, and important milestones/life events. This is also when you will discuss what type of narrative and focus of the story you want for the memoir. Usually, it is either chronological, focused on the family values, or event based. 

​

• Afterwards, we will schedule a date for what we call the “Big Interview”. This usually requires at least four hours for our producer to interview you or the family representative, and up to four people of your choosing, either family or close friends. 

​

• The interview session is done in one day, so please make sure that the date picked is one that everybody can participate actively. 

​

• Next comes the editing. Based on the material recorded during the research and big interviews, our producer will create an hour-long audio episode that will include your voice interview, professional narration, music and sound effects if you choose. 

​

• You will be sent a rough cut for review and comments before the memoir gets published. Please make sure that all parties involved get a chance to review as well. There will only be one review session. 

​

• After making necessary adjustments, you will receive a link to your micro-site with the final cut in mp3 format via an online link. You can also request the raw material that was used in your story.
